It’s the perfect mix of urban and outdoor living, making it an ideal destination for a weekend getaway, or if you live in Boise, a great place to enjoy.
Below I created a weekend in Boise itinerary that you can absolutely modify. Yet, I’m hoping it gives you a great starting place with many of the best things to do in Boise Idaho. So whether you are planning a vacation in Boise Idaho or you are looking for family events in Boise this weekend, keep on reading. .
Where to Stay in Boise

Museums, Zoo, and Freak Alley Gallery
Spend the afternoon visiting one of Boise’s museums, the Zoo Boise, and walking along Freak Alley Gallery. Think ‘organized graffiti that is pure art in a safe alley’. It’s really an outdoor art exhibit featuring colorful murals. Located in the 8th street area of Downtown Boise, the alley is constantly changing as new artists add their own touch to the walls.

The Greenbelt
Enjoy a walk or bike ride on the paved Greenbelt trail that follows the Boise River. With over 25 miles of paved pathways, you can enjoy scenic views and nature right in the heart of the city.
And if you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can even rent a tube and float down the Boise river in the summer months.
Camel’s Back Park
If you want to go on a popular Boise hike, head to Camel’s Back Park in the North End neighborhood. This popular spot offers stunning views of Boise at the top of the steep stairs, along with a ton of hiking and mountain biking trials that are all interconnected.
If you want a snack or need a break, walk just two blocks to the Hyde Park neighborhood of the North End and enjoy coffee or lunch at one of the many shops and restaurants.
